Training Facility Video Tour

This past Friday a good friend of mine (and his children) took a tour of the Wizards state of the art Training facility. It was really great to see where the team spends much of their time preparing for Games and bonding as a group. Thank you Rick Dressel for taking us on the tour and thank you Kyle Rogers for setting this up. This is access that other teams simply do not allow, as a fan I am grateful for their kindness and hope they will continue leading the league when it comes to opening up to their fans. Enjoy the video (remember this is amateur).

2008 KC Wizards Jersey with Picture

Finally after much talk of what the 2008 Wizards Jersey will look like I have a picture of it. The jersey is the actual jersey with the lettering and logo missing. This picture was taken during a tour of the Wizards training facility Friday evening a video of that tour will be posted on Monday. So what do you think of our new jersey? More pictures inside.

KC and DPs

I just saw that FC Dallas signed Davino, 31 year old defender from Club America in Mexico. Other news has Claudio Lopez heading somewhere in MLS. It got me thinking regarding KC and our DP spot. The more I think about it the more I’m sure that we will not fill that spot until the new stadium opens. If I’m On Goal there is no way I’m coughing up DP cash on anyone so long as my current stadium only holds 10,000 butts. Continue reading

Oz City Exclusive Interview: Michael Harrington

Not long ago I was able to email some questions via the FO to our two players who recently traveled to China with the US U-23 National team, Aaron Hohlbein and Michael Harrington. I tried to ask a few interesting questions to give our fans a better insight to who theses guys are as well as what it is like to travel with the Nats. Below are Michael Harrington’s answers, click here to check out Hohlbein’s questions as well. Continue reading

Oz City Plans for 2008

I thought I’d take a moment and let you know the plans for this site in 2008. While news has been slow recently it should pick up soon with major transfers throughout January and league trades leading into the season. January 18th we’ll pick up a few players in the MLS Supedraft; images of both the Bannister stadium and new jersey should surface leading us up to the pre-season not long after that. Oz City is meant to be more than just a blog though. You might have noticed the static pages in the left column. Those are meant to be reference pages that are easily accessible all the time. Many of you know a great deal about the team, however as new fans are gained they will be looking for info about the team and those pages will be a big help. This will take some time to finish- if you are interested in helping with any of the pages let me know. Now let me tell you about some of the fun things planned for this year. Continue reading

Oz City’s State of the Wizards

This is the first annual Oz City “State of the Wizards Address.” (Although nothing can technically be called “annual” until the second occasion.) I would love to see an official version of this by the guy above in the Uncle Sam suit, Robb Heineman. If you don’t know Robb is the President of the Wizards. In many ways this expresses what I’m excited about for the Wizards in 2008 and beyond as well as what I am worried about. I’ve broken it into two major sections: on the field and off the field. Enjoy. Continue reading
