Thursday Tidbits

  • Wizards President Robb Heineman has been given the title: “The Mark Cuban of MLS,” courtesy of Martin Rogers at Yahoo!  His ventures onto BigSoccer and all around fan-friendly, fans-first demeanor have endeared him to KC supporters, but apparently it hasn’t come without some backlash from others.
  • The latest twist in the Eric Frimpong controversial rape conviction? His father says he was lured from Ghana without his permission by a “white man” and this individual is who is responsible for Eric’s present situation.
  • Former Kansas City Wizard (and Comet) Alex Zotinca is likely out for the season with a torn acl suffered earlier this month in the Texas Pro Soccer Festival versus DC United.
  • Fulham FC announced yesterday that Eddie Johnson has launched a public service effort for local youth called Kickz.  Sounds promising, and it’s good to see EJ making such a positive contribution to the community so early in his stay.  Also on is a fun-spirited Q&A with Eddie.  Betcha didn’t know he wants to meet the dinosaurs.  Or that he supports NFL-style instant replay in soccer.  Good stuff.
