The little numbers in the business section of the Kansas City Star just confuse me so I try to avoid them, however today in the Kansas City Star’s business section there was an article about how celebrities handle their money. Those of note are Kansas City Chief Tony Gonzales and Katie Horner who I expect suggest you wear a helmet whenever handling money (if you’ve seen her reports during possible tornado weather you understand this). But of interest to us is Jimmy “Freaking” Conrad and how he handles his money. That being said, the article is from Sat Dec 22nd and while I subscribe to the Star I missed it and the online version will not load the second page as of this moment. Perhaps they’ll fix that and we’ll be able to read it. If anyone remembers anything interesting from the article please post it in the comments.
The photo above is posted with the KC Star article, In the picture is Jimmy, his wife Lyndsey and his daughter Julia.
Bring in tons of money to tear down what is worthless and rebuild something nice? Not in our town says group near Bannister. There are reports from many places about a group trying to stop the Bannister Redevelopment. The KC Star recently wrote up an article on the issue. The basic idea is there are residents in the area trying to put a stop to the redevelopment because they think it is better for the community to try and reopen the mall and stores in the surrounding area than to redevelop it. Really it reminds of an old prank of Jimmy Kimmel’s where he convinced a bunch of women to walk around a public place promoting the ending of Women’s Suffrage. I’m guessing there is some influential man in the community playing the role of Kimmel and a bunch of unknowing others who are signing this petition. It does not worry me however for at this point it would be like campaigning to stopping plate tectonics. You can read their article by clicking on the link above.
I was making a logo for an indoor soccer team I play on just for fun and decided to adjust it to be a Wizards logo. You can see the result above and variations below/inside. The first uses only the two blues, yellow and blue which appear to be the 2008 color scheme and no black (This is assumed by looking at season ticket ads). Continue reading
The picture above is hosted on the Kansas City Stars site, I’m using it to promote their story, if Bob wants it removed I will gladly do so at his request via email.
There will be no Wizards news for the first few days this week, everyone is off spending time with family. I thought I’d take this time to mention what this break in the year is about. Until recently I would have thought most would immediately give the answer, it is a celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. Now I am not sure, I have noticed that increasingly it being redefined to be about family.
I watched the Shrek Christmas special last week. Continue reading
